EIN is primarily a subscription service, providing within its members' area information and materials on immigration, asylum and nationality law and practice in the UK for immigration law practitioners and advisors. The Case Law database includes full text or summaries of Immigration Tribunal determinations, Asylum Support decisions, and selected key judgments of cases in the higher English courts and other jurisdictions. First-tier Tribunal (Asylum Support)
The First-tier Tribunal (Asylum Support) considers appeals by asylum seekers against refusal or termination of support by the UK Border Agency. It was formerly known as the Asylum Support Tribunal, and earlier still, when first established in April 2000, as the Asylum Support Adjudicators. Since 3 November 2008 it has formed part of the First-tier Tribunal's Social Entitlement Chamber. Information on the site includes forms and guidance; a searchable database of the Tribunal's Reason Statements (Decisions); and links to procedural rules and other legislation on the OPSI web site.

First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber)
The First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) deals with appeals against decisions made by the Home Secretary and his officials in immigration, asylum and nationality matters. It was established 15 February 2010 when it replaced, along with a new Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber), the former Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. The site has information about appeal procedures, forms and guidance, and details of hearing centres. First-tier Tribunal (Immigration Services)
The First-tier Tribunal (Immigration Services) hears appeals against decisions made by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner and considers disciplinary charges brought against immigration advisors by the Commissioner. It was established in October 2000 as the Immigration Services Tribunal, published its first decisions in 2001, and was transferred into the General Regulatory Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal on 18 January 2010. The site includes guidance, rules, forms, a register of all cases 2001 onwards, and a searchable database of decisions 2001 onwards.

Global Commission on International Migration
The Commission was launched by the United Nations Secretary-General and a number of governments on 9 December 2003 in Geneva and closed on 31 December 2005. This archived site includes the Commission's reports made to the UN, news, expert reports and published research papers under the heading of “Global Migration Perspectives”.

A consolidated version of the UK Immigration Rules is available via this page of the UK Border Agency web site. Any changes to this version are highlighted in italic text from the date on which the change is laid before Parliament until 28 days after it takes effect. Also available are the texts of all the individual Parliamentary Papers entitled Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules issued since May 2003.

Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees in the UK
The ICAR is an independent information centre, based at City University, London, that exists to promote understanding of asylum seekers and refugees in the UK and to encourage information-based debate and policy making. The site includes a resources directory of 1500 documents, statistical analysis and ICAR publications from March 2002 onwards. In preparation is an interactive map containing regional reports on asylum and refugees within the UK.

International Organization for Migration
The IOM is an organisation which works with migrants and governments to provide humane responses to migration challenges. The site includes links to regional IOM web sites, recent publications and press announcements. The "Law" section of the site gives access to the Migration Law Database, a database of norms and instruments regulating migration at international, regional and national levels.

Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants
The JCWI is an independent national voluntary organisation which campaigns for justice in UK immigration and asylum law and policy. The "Policy" section of the site provides news of recent developments in immigration law and links to relevant UK and European documents, including legislation.

Migration Policy Group
The Migration Policy Group (MPG) is an independent organisation, based in Brussels, committed to policy development on migration and mobility, anti-discrimination and equality, and diversity and integration. The web site includes information on MPG's programmes of work in those three areas. Publications include a series of Anti-Discrimination Reports covering over 20 European countries, and (within the Anti-Discrimination section) all issues to date of the bi-annual European Anti-Discrimination Law Review (2005 onwards).

Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner
The Commissioner regulates those immigration advisers in the UK who are not members of professional bodies such as the Law Society and the General Council of the Bar. Publications on the site include press notices, annual reports, a Code of Standards, the Commissioner's Rules, and decisions of the Immigration Services Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the Commissioner.

Refugee Law Reader
The refugee law reader: cases, documents and materials (5th edition, 2008), published by the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the European Refugee Fund, is intended to serve as a "model curriculum" for the study of international refugee law. Aimed at professors, lawyers, advocates and students, the reader contains over 700 documents and materials. Materials include key legal texts, instruments and academic commentary.

The UN Refugee Agency's Refworld web site provides information necessary for taking decisions on refugee status. The site includes reports on country status; a legal documents collection, including legislation and case law; and thematic reports. Documents can be browsed by topic, publisher or document type.

Special Immigration Appeals Commission
SIAC, which is a superior court of record, deals with appeals from certain immigration decisions of the Home Secretary where international terrorism, national security or other matters of public interest are involved. The site has cause lists, forms and guidance, links to legislation, and an "Outcomes" database containing the texts of judgments of the Commission ("open determinations") and of any subsequent reviews of determinations.

UK Border Agency
The UK Border Agency, formed in April 2008, is an executive agency of the Home Office with responsibility for managing UK border control, enforcement of immigration and customs regulations, citizenship and asylum. "Immigration Law" within the "Policy and Law" section provides access to current legislation and the current consolidated Immigration Rules (HC 395 as amended). Statements of Changes are available from May 2003. "Guidance and Instructions" in the same section includes the Immigration Directorate's Instructions (IDIs), the Asylum Policy Instructions (APIs) and the Nationality Instructions (NIs). Recent consultation documents and press releases are also available.
