Fiji Law Reform Commission

The Fiji Law Reform Commission has been in existence for 25 years, and it is intending retrospectively to make all its publications (working papers, research papers, issues papers, discussion papers, final reports, newsletters and annual reports) available online. At the moment, the earliest available dates from 1998. The Current Reviews section has details of current law reform projects.

Introduction to Researching South Pacific Law

This introduction, written by Peter Murgatroyd, Law Librarian of the University of the South Pacific, was published on the GlobaLex web site in June 2006. There are hypertext links to the sources discussed, where possible.

Journal of South Pacific Law

Electronic journal published by the University of the South Pacific School of Law, 1997 onwards, containing articles, book reviews and working papers.

Law of the Pacific Islands: a guide to web based resources

This guide, written by Dianne Thompson, Anna Matich and Ruth Bird, and published on the LLRX.com site, provides legal and political background to the jurisdictions concerned, and links to legislation and judgments where available. Also included are treaties and journals of general application to the region. This is an updated version, published July 2008.

Laws of Fiji

Provided by the Fiji Government's Information Technology and Computing Services, this is an alphabetical listing by title of Fiji Acts, with links to full (unofficial) text in some cases.

Pacific Legal Network

PLN is an Australian law firm with offices in Papua New Guinea and associated offices throughout the Pacific. Their web site gives information about the work of the firm and features a quarterly newsletter containing legal news from Commonwealth and other Pacific territories. A financial services newsletter entitled Banknote is also available.

PacLII

PacLII is the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute. It provides legislation and case law from jurisdictions throughout the Pacific including the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. There is also a brief outline of the legal system in each jurisdiction, and a regional treaty database - the Pacific Islands Treaty Series.
