Written by Yemisi Dina, John Akintayo and Funke Ekundayo, this guide (updated version published January/February 2010) covers the Nigerian legal system, government bodies and agencies, primary and secondary sources, legal education and legal profession. Links to web resources are provided where possible.

The National Assembly's web site has pages relating to the Senate (upper house) and House of Representatives (lower house), each providing information on members and committees. Votes and Proceedings (a verbatim report of each day's business) are available from 2005 onwards. Bills are provided from 1999 onwards.

The Nigeria Law web site is maintained by the International Centre for Nigerian Law. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria is available to download and consists of a single large file. Alternatively it is possible to view separately laws passed in any year from 1990 onwards. The web site also contains the Constitution of Nigeria and rules of procedure for the Court of Appeal, the High Court of Lagos State and the Federal High Court. The "Law reporting" section has selected full text judgments of the Supreme Court: these are simply arranged alphabetically by title of case.
