This official site is notable in particular for providing the Laws of Malaysia, in pdf. This incorporates all principal laws enacted after 1969, and pre-1969 laws as revised since then. These are listed numerically with links to full text in both English and Malay. There is also an alphabetical list, without links. |
Chief Registrar's Office, Federal Court of Malaysia
This web site covers the Federal Court, the Court of Appeal and the High Court, and includes cause lists, court rules (under "legislation"), practice directions and biographies of senior judiciary. There are also links to mini-sites relating to the subordinate courts in the various Malaysian states, much of the content of which is in Malay only.

The Malaysian Bar is the professional body for all lawyers in Malaysia. Its web site provides information on how to qualify as a solicitor/advocate in Malaysia, legislation governing the legal profession, practice directions, membership directory and news relevant to the profession.

Overview of Malaysian Legal System and Research
Published on the GlobaLex site in March/April 2009, this guide was written by Shaikh Mohamed Noordin, law librarian, and Lim Pui Keng, partner, both of the law firm Tay & Partners in Kuala Lumpur. It has sections on the sources of law, ministries, government departments, regulatory bodies and the legal profession.

Parlimen Malaysia
This is the official web site of the Parliament of Malaysia, and includes Bills, 1990 onwards (in English), directory of members, and Hansard, which is in Malay only. Legislation is provided via a link to the Attorney General's Chambers site.

Sabah LawNet is the official web site of the Sabah State Attorney-General's Chambers. The General Information section provides lists of recent Sabah laws and subsidiary legislation, and an alphabetical index of laws giving the date of entry into force in each case. The full text of laws is restricted to those with access to the Sabah government's intranet. |
Undang-Undang Negeri Sarawak [Laws of Sarawak]
This Sarawak government site lists, by English title, both Sarawak (i.e. state) and Malaysian (i.e. federal) legislation. Although the full texts are not reproduced, this resource is useful in that it allows users to see which matters are legislated for by the state legislature and which by the federal. |
